The Temporary Lodgings Collective centres in four ways on music as an artistic vocation of its membership: composition and performance in accordance with members' tastes for audiences sharing those tastes; mutual teaching and learning; the promotion and practice of equity and inclusion; and a network of hearths for arts-related travel and mutual aid.
